值得注意的是,The BIO is also capable of doing DMA via the “BDMA” extension. This extension allows the load/store units of the PicoRV32 cores access the SoC’s bus, with a “dumb” priority resolver in case of contending accesses (lowest numbered core always wins; other cores halt). Adding this capability allows the BIO to also act as a smart DMA engine for shuttling data to and from main memory, but it does add about 50% to the size of the base BIO core. It’s not as fast as the fastest DMA engines, but it can implement fairly complicated data access transformations, such as scatter-gather, rotations and shuffle/interleave with some amount of smarts to handle exceptions and special cases.
